One email, 36 hours, my own average product = $8,000 pure profit. That got my attention.
Quite simply put Email Marketing is the essential part of your home business’s online marketing campaigns.
Why?
Because this is what you use to build those ‘do or die’ relationships with your leads. And in the noisy markets relationships is key to your success. Of course face to face would win hands down to build rapport with your prospects but you cannot get face to face with everyone so we need to use leverage.
Imagine sending one email and it building a relationship with hundreds or thousands of people at the same time. Email marketing Works! And to ignore it is a little crazy in my view.
I know the top guns and their students all have lists but still I speak to so many who do not yet see its power. Even when i was a newbie and created average products I made $8,000 in 36 hours from an email list of just 500 people, isn’t that powerful.
I was in shock when that happened but it cemented it into my soul. This thing will change my business forever. And it did. So I then set about knowing, testing and tracking everything. I wanted to see how the Brits responded to emails and how different that was for worldwide emails. I will share those results later.
So here’s some tips to help with you email marketing efforts:-
Subject: Get Noticed & Get That Message Opened.
Try different subject headlines. You will be amazed at what gets opened the most. But test any idea you have for something that will AROUSE INTRIGUE (hint)
Email Body:
1/ Deliver on the headline. Whatever your headline was continue / answer it in the copy.
(if you fail to have this continuity you will lose subscribers as they hate to be conned into opening your emails)
2/ Get link clicked – always try and send them to a sales page / content video (covertly selling on the back)
This will get your list more engaged and it’s a truer reflection on a successful email. People open and don’t read so this shows you they read something.
3/ Bond with your list.
Open each email with a bit about what you have on today or your night of no sleep with your kids or simple “the wife is shoppin today so I have a peaceful house to work in. The more they ‘feel’ you as an every day person with a normal life the less resistance to your offers. (I have subscribers email ME to ask if they should buy something I am selling – how cool is that?)
**NOTE. NEVER tell your list a lie to make a sale. If a product is not right for them TELL THEM SO)
4/ Keep them knowing you will email tomorrow. Daily emails without fail work like gang-busters for building rapport and selling. I see this a lot that folks think “Oh I won’t email often in case anyone gets upset. SO? I get 2 emails a day from Daegan (Smith) I get daily from Perry Marshall and I never get upset. WHY? Because they give value and I want that value.
5/ Share other people questions and struggles and your solutions. This will show you care and also position you as an authority to your followers.
6/ Never fear the un-subscribes. Ignore all hate mail. It’s not you they are angry at. I promise.
Un-subscribes are saying “I am angry at myself and/or I don’t want to buy anything. So what’s wrong with that? Cool to me.
And
7/ Know your purpose in every email – Always have a core purpose to each email. This is what you frame your headline around and your copy. Know what you want them to do or buy or watch. It will keep your messages strong.
8/ P.S. make your p.s have a clear benefit and call to action link. It should back up your email copy but in one sentence if possible. Many folks go to the p.s. first so have it sharp.
Follow This Simple Email Structure
- Say about your day today – what’s on your real life agenda
- Give value – mindset, skills, techniques, strategies that will help them
- call to action – I would try 2-3 url links. one near the top – one in the middle – one in the p.s.
Simples! About you, give value, call to action.
There’s obviously a lot more but the above should help anyone new to get some traction, overcome that fear and start seeing some return on their email marketing investment.
